If you have any work conflicts with timings just shoot us a message to let us know that you're coming, the race you're entering, and who your partner is. We'll do our best to wait for you!

Race Sections

Upper Cheak:

  • This is a solo time trial race. There will be safety situated at potential troublesome spots but you'll be more or less alone out there. If you want to race but don't feel comfortable going solo, you can have a safety buddy to go down with you and their time won't count.

  • The falls. We'll see what the flows are as we near Friday but if you're comfortable with them, practice both right and left lines. For the race you can always put in below the falls but you will have a one minute time penalty.

  • Time stops at the take out gauge.

Valhalla Squamish Cal-Cheak Race:

  • Starting at the confluence of the Cheak and Callaghan and ending at the big eddy on river left just after a big wave train a couple hundred meters above the take out.

  • This is a partner race. Time stops when the second racer gets to the end.

Callaghan Race:

  • If flows are above .3 we'll likely be starting at the put-in. If they're below we'll likely be starting with the seal launch at the ledge. Racing all the way to the take out!

  • This is a partner race. Time stops when the second racer gets to the end.

Race Rules:

  • Boat length limit of 10 feet.

  • Always prioritize safety. If another racer is in trouble, stop to help them. We can get you another lap.

  • Throwbags are mandatory for all racers.

  • It is mandatory to have paddled the section you're racing at least once before.

Camping:

  • Camping at the Cal-Cheak North Campsite is included in everyone’s registration. It’s ours Friday and Saturday night. The gate will be locked on Thursday night, but you're welcome to walk in and set up a day before.

  • There will be no actual sites so open your mind, share your space, and set up wherever! Gates will open at noon on Friday!

  • The party on Saturday will be taking place at the very North end of the camping area so if you’re not a big partier think about setting up further to the South.
